Character Education Teaching to Sense the Power of your Heart

Character educators or counselors should teach their students to sense the power of one's heart through Character education. This will enable each kid to grow into perfect human being who loves others and also who is being loved by all. The inside of your body is an accurate map of our solar system and the universe. Your heart is the sun and the center of your body system. Your organs are the planets, and just as the planets depend on the sun to remain in balance and harmony, so do all the organs in your body rely on your heart to remain in balance and harmony. Let us discuss how teachers can educate their children and make them understand the power of love and being loved through Character Education.

Scientists at the Institute of HeartMath in California have shown that feeling love, gratitude, and appreciation in your heart boosts your immune system; increases vital chemical production; increases physical vitality and vigor; reduces stress hormone levels, high blood pressure, anxiety, guilt, and suffer exhaustion; and improves glucose regulation in diabetics.

Feelings of love also create a higher degree of harmony in the rhythm of your heart. HeartMath has shown that the Magnetic field of the heart is 5,000 times more powerful than the magnetic field of the brain, and reaches out several feet from our body.

Other scientists are trying to alter our understanding of the affect of love on our health, through experiments with water. What does water have to do with health? Your body is made up of 70% of water! The inside of your skull is 80% water!

Researches conducted in Japan, Russia, India, and the United States have discovered that when water is exposed to positive words and feelings such as love and gratitude, not only the energy level of the water increases, the structure of the water itself changes, making it perfectly harmonious. A higher positive feeling makes the water become more harmonious. And when it is exposed to negative emotions like hate, the energy level of the water decreases, and a frenzied change occurs, negatively affecting the structure of the water.

If human emotions can change the structure of water, can you imagine what your feelings are doing to the health of your body? The center of every cell is water, and each cell is completely surrounded by a layer of water. Can you imagine the impact of love and gratitude on your body? Can you imagine the power of love and gratitude to restore health? When you feel love, your love affects the water of the 100 trillion cells in your body!

Teach your students through Character education, to use the power of love for perfect health. To receive the health you want and love, you must give love! In the face of any sickness, give good feelings about health, because only love brings perfect health. You cannot give bad feelings about sickness and receive health. If you hate or fear a disease, you will be giving out bad feelings, and disease can never go away through bad feelings. When you give thoughts and feelings of what you want, your cells receive the full force of health. When you give negative thoughts and feelings of what you don't want, the force of health to your cell reduces! It doesn't matter if you feel bad about a subject that has nothing to do with your health; when you feel bad, you reduce the force of health to your body. But when you feel love for anything – for a sunny day, new house, friend, or promotion – you body receives the full force of health.

Academic instruction isn't the only responsibility teachers have in today's classrooms. More and more, teachers are being called on to teach students about values ... things like making good decisions, the showing of respect, taking responsibility, choosing friends, and having a positive attitude.  It's a responsibility that could be overwhelming, considering the limited hours available in a school day, the number of kids in the classroom, and the diversity of backgrounds and personalities each child represents.

Character Education by Just Do The Right Thing" is a practical and powerful tool that equips educators to tackle values training with confidence.

Teaching Character Education In The Classroom

If character development does not take place at home it must be acquired somewhere else. There are a lot of various organizations that are meant to instill values in children such as the various scout organizations. In fact the Boy Scout motto is Be Prepared and the mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare the children who join their organization to make ethical and moral choices that will go with them for their entire lives. The organization was established over 100 years ago and the values are as valid today as they were then. It is just that children dont have the parents or authorities or whomever to instill these character traits in them unless they are taught character education in the classroom.

To quote the Boy Scout website, A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. And all of these words have meaning. They are good strong words that are meant to reflect good strong children who grow up into good strong adults. Unfortunately many teachers do not have the training to teach character education in the classroom. But there are many schools that have made it their mission to teach character development to the children who enter their schools. These character education schools have taken this responsibility upon themselves. They believe that children taught character will be a benefit to both them and to the society as a whole.

Just as the Boy Scouts of America have values also so do the schools that are teaching these values or character traits. Some of these values are things such as having a suitable and positive behavior, or having respect and compassion for other people. Just recognizing that some people are different and accepting that difference is a part of character education and growth.

There are many ways for teachers to teach character development. One of them is to assign certain reading materials that highlight this character development. Or another way is to engage children who have observed someone who is a bully and get them to interact with each other and the teacher and have them discuss this person. Ask hard questions like do you approve of this behavior or ask them what they would do different. One of the precepts of character education is getting a child to think about their actions and the actions of others. If a child begins to think about different actions then perhaps they will then think of the different outcomes of their actions.

Perhaps the children can write an essay as part of the school assignment so that they are forced to actually give some thought to various actions whoever had taken them. If children are not taught these basic concepts when young such as the Boy Scouts do, then they may have missed their chance to ever learn them. If so they will not be a benefit to society but a burden in the long run which is not beneficial to them.

The Best Life Lessons - Teaching Character

Many schools embrace some sort of character education in an effort to curtail discipline problems. The hope is for students to stop and think how they would feel in difficult situations and use that feeling as a gauge for their own behavior. The question is does it work?

The problem with most programs is they are limited in their desired influence. The best program cannot change a school's environment. The best test of character lies in the attitudes of the teaching staff. Do they embody the values and principles of empathy, kindness and respect?

This weekend I read an interesting article in the New York Times on teaching character. It seems school districts across the country are spending enormous sums of money hoping to find a program that is comprehensive but does not crowd out the academic mission of their schools.

This sounded like a contradiction to me because what could be more important than helping to shape the character of every student.

The mission of any school need not be limited to academic achievement in fact it should be to nurture the desire to learn in collaboration and cooperation with each other. If the mission focuses on the narrow goal of promoting individual achievement than it fosters the type of competing and comparing that often threaten acceptance, tolerance and synergy.

For thirteen years I supervised a disciple program in a middle school. The purpose of our program was to provide a quality environment and engage the student in a process of responsible decision-making. The hope was in this process the student would accept responsibility for their actions and choose a better positive way to solve a problem. The character component was critical.

It was successful in a limited way because it only engaged students with behavior problems. It was not proactive because it did not reach the greater number of students who helped shape and influence the environment of the school. Nor did it work to change the attitudes of the teaching staff. Despite devoted time and energy there was no paradigm shift in the way we looked at solving problems. What we needed was a critical examination of how each one of us hoped to embody the principles of character.

As a staff we were an older version of our middle school population. There was gossip, there were cliques, there was bullying, there was jealousy, there were petty grievances and wasted energy on small things. I have no doubt that students were aware of these adult relationships and viewed them as a template for their own behavior.

The best way to teach character is to show love and kindness. The environment that has a high regard for individual differences, for forgiveness and acceptance is one that allows everything to flourish. Think of it in terms of providing rich compost that needs little to protect it during times of stress. The environment itself is the protection.

This connected integrated view holds true for every system in the universe. Our own bodies operate so smoothly that we can forget about them until some failure captures our attention.

Schools can become the best place to be if the adults insist on nurturing an environment of love of kindness. It will be apparent to every child that character is not just a buzzword, or an inspirational message, it is a practice built on the right foundation.

Teaching Character Education

Who is accountable for teaching character to our society during this day and age? And even a lot of importantly, who is accountable for teaching character to our youth? Is it the household? Is it the media or our entertainment industry? Or is it our instructional system?

It appears that for a lot too long, a child's character education has been relegated to the confines of their household. sadly, knowledge shows us that folks are spending less and fewer time with their youngsters recently. And as such, the chances that the tiny quantity of your time that folks are spending with their youngsters is targeted on conversations resulting in the event of fine character, are minimal.

Sadly, youngsters are all too typically left with either learning their character traits from their friends or from movies and television.

and also the chance that they're learning any sensible character traits from these 2 sources, is indeed quite little. it's uncertain in today's world of heightened violence and instant gratification, that youngsters are being exposed to life benefiting character education to the degree that may manufacture the positive results that we have a tendency to rummage around for our nation as a full. Positive results that means a rustic that does not come back to the brink of economic collapse attributable to the acts of unscrupulous bankers, mortgage professionals, and politicians. Or positive results that ends up in a society that does not unethically invade a rustic on false pretenses, or torture its enemies of war. Character is that the mental and ethical qualities distinctive to a private. And when and individual has character, we have a tendency to sometimes read them as having ethical or moral strength. Or higher place, the strength to try to to what's right.

Therefore, if we have a tendency to as a society do not educate our children on the traits of fine character, or why sensible character is very important, how will we have a tendency to expect that they place any price in them, or that they categorical those sensible character traits, as they become adults? it's time for us to begin consciously deciding to enhance our society. the simplest thanks to try this, it for us to start formally teaching our students character at college. However, within the current education system, character building isn't targeted on for any core standards. Therefore, we have a tendency to should encourage the adoption of character education, to assist students perceive why it's vital to possess sensible character, and then facilitate them to create it. this manner we will all begin coming up with for and really expecting a a lot of positive and a lot of productive future as a society.
